I’m thrilled to announce after all these months of recording and editing the launch of my first online course for DJs is live – Learning to DJ (L2DJ) Beginner to Intermediate for House, Electronic and Techno DJs. This course consists of over 10 hours of lectures covering aspects of DJ theory and practice taught by ROBDEEP (CA) (hey there!) a Toronto based DJ and producer with over 10 years of experience DJing and recently started producing and releasing his own music via Soundcloud, Spotify and Bandcamp.

What is the Beginner to Intermediate DJ Course About?

By the end of this course you will be able to talk intelligently about DJing and artfully use your DJ equipment to compose great sounding DJ sets. By mastering essential DJ technical skills, transitions, mix placements, EQ, FX and more you will take yourself from a beginner state of DJing to an intermediate level of proficiency – placing yourself in the best position to develop further in your DJ journey.

What specifically will you learn in Learning to DJ’s course?

    • Why do DJs loop and what’s the purpose?
  • Read the energy of the dance floor and understand crowd dynamics.
    • If you can’t read a crowd your playing to an empty room!
  • Differentiate between opening, mid-liner, and headliner DJs.
  • Enhance music discovery through various platforms.
    • You need to have a good taste in music before you can be a good DJ – discovery is necessary
  • Develop set crafting skills and understand track energy levels.

Who is this ideal learner for L2DJ’s Beginner to Intermediate course?

This course is aimed at the passionate prospective, beginner or novice DJ who wants guidance and a structured learning path to meaningfully improve their DJing art.

In creating L2DJ, I wanted to design a course and website to provide DJs a comprehensive view of DJing without having to scramble around the internet to find what they are looking for! Overtime, as I expand the L2DJ brand I hope to add a variety of new courses to expand the information available for prospective DJs.
